🔯   Thai exclamatory particles and final particles are spoken by native speakers.  It is to convey emotion and feeling when you are speaking with your close friends.  Many foreigners are confused with these words when they came to work, visit, and study in Thailand.  Because it doesn't have in the book, newspaper, or Thai tutor schools.  We speak Thai word in our real life all the time and Thais use in everyday speech.  And many words haven't in the textbook or Thai dictionary as well.

Thai Exclamatory Particles & Final Particles

kăa  ขา It is a polite and sweet - sounding particle words. E.g.  My honey! tîi  rák  kăa ที่รักขา

ká  คะ It is a polite and sweet-sounding particle and is used at the end of question. E.g.  My honey! tîi  rák  ká ที่รักคะ

kà  ค่ะ E.g.  We're fully booked. dtem  mòt  láew  kà เต็มหมดแล้วค่ะ

kráp  ครับ This is the most common particle used by males. E.g.  May I have your ticket, please? kăw  doo  dtŭa  nòi  kráp ขอดูตั๋วหน่อยครับ

kráp  pŏm  ครับผม This is the most common particle used by males. E.g.  Where's the lavatory? hâwng - nám  yòo  tîi  năi  kráp  pŏm ห้องน้ำอยู่ที่ไหนครับผม

là  ล่ะ It’s the end of a sentence indicates a mild entreaty. E.g.  Don’t forget! yàa  leum  là! อย่าลืมล่ะ

làe  แหล่ะ E.g.  It's signposted all the way.  mii  bpâai  bàwk  taang  dtà - làwt  loei  làe มีป้ายบอกทางตลอดเลยแหล่ะ

loei  เลย It’s used informally words.  it's often used to denote emphasis. E.g.  It's raining. fŏn  gam - lang  dtòk  loei ฝนกำลังตกเลย

loei  à  เลยอะ E.g.  Keep to the left.  chít  sáai  wái  loei  à ชิดซ้ายไว้เลยอะ

loei  ná!  เลยนะ E.g.  He's a champion boxer.  kăo  bpen  nák - muai  chaem - bpîan  loei  ná เขาเป็นนักมวยแชมป์เปี้ยนเลยนะ

mái  ไหม E.g.  Can you ski?  kun  lên  sà - gii  bpen  mái  คุณเล่นสกีเป็นไหม

mái  à  ไหมอ่ะ It's used informally at the end of questions. E.g.  Can you ski?  kun  lên  sà - gii  bpen  mái  à คุณเล่นสกีเป็นไหมอะ

tam  mai  ทำไม E.g.  Why do you like to eat Durian? tam  mai  kun  těung  châwp  gin  durian ทำไมคุณถึงชอบกินทุเรียน

mâi - à  ไม่อ่ะ E.g.  Do you like to eat Durian?  Nope! Nope!  = mâi - à  (No, I don’t)

máng  มั้ง Maybe and perhaps. E.g.  Any reduction for children?  Maybe. dèk  dâi  lót  raa - kaa  mái?  dâi  máng เด็กได้ลดราคาไหม?  ได้มั้ง

jing - má  จริงมะ E.g.  Is it true? man  jing  má มันจริงมะ

jing  jing  จริง ๆ It means it is true.  Do not liar. E.g.  Today I go to school. wan  níi  pŏm  bpai  rorng - rian  jing  jing  kráp วันนี้ผมไปโรงเรียนจริง ๆ ครับ

măe!  แหม... E.g.  I didn’t see you for a long time. Măe!  pŏm  mâi  dâi  joe  kun  maa  naan  loei  ná แหม...  ผมไม่ได้เจอคุณมานานเลยนะ

ná  นะ Ná is a polite particle or softener words. E.g.  What’s colour? sĭi  à - rai  ná สีอะไรนะ

nâ  ná  น่ะนะ It’s “please… please…”. E.g.  I'll take the upper bunk. chán  kăw  dtiang  nawn  chán  bon  nâ  ná  ฉันขอเตียงนอนชั้นบนน่ะนะ

năw  หนอ A particle placed at the end of a question, roughly equivalent to “I wonder”; can be used to soften a sentence.

nóe  เนอะ E.g.  You'd better slow down. kun  kwuan  jà  cháa  cháa  dii  gwàa  nóe คุณควรจะช้า ๆ ดีกว่าเนอะ

nîi  na  นี่นา E.g.  You have a free time now. kun  mii  wea - laa  wâang  láew  nîi  na  คุณมีเวลาว่างแล้วนี่นา

níi  rŏe  นี้เหรอ It means this one. E.g.  You love this style. kun  châwp  bàep  níi  rŏe คุณชอบแบบนี้เหรอ

nân  ngai  นั่นไง E.g.  It’s you. kun  nân  ngai  คุณนั่นไง

nîa  เนี่ย It's used for emphasis. E.g.  I love white roses. chán  châwp  dàwk - gù - làap  sĭi - kăao  nîa ฉันชอบดอกกุหลายสีขาวเนี่ย

nòi  หน่อย It’s “a little”. E.g.  Could you help me to cook Thai food? kun  chûay  pŏm  tam  aa - hăan  tai  nòi  ná  kráp คุณช่วยผมทำอาหารไทยหน่อยนะครับ

nít  neung  นิดนึง It means a little or you need someone to help you to do something. E.g.  Could you help me to cook food? kun  chûay  pŏm  tam  aa - hăan  nít  neung  ná  kráp คุณช่วยผมทำอาหารนิดนึงนะครับ

nít  nung  นิดนุงส์ Thai slangs.

nít  nít  นิด นิด It’s so small, a little, a few etc… E.g.  Do you like cooking?  Just a little. kun  châwp  tam  aa - hăan  mái?  gâw  nít  nít  ná คุณชอบทำอาหารไหม?  ก็นิดนิดนะ

nít  nòi  นิดหน่อย E.g.  He has a problem. kăo  mii  bpan - hăa  nít  nòi  เขามีปัญหานิดหน่อย

ràwk   หรอก Used after a negative statement to make it seem milder or convey a humble attitude. E.g.  Today I’m not working. wan  níi  pŏm  mâi  tam  ngaan  ràwk วันนี้ผมไม่ทำงานหรอก

tii  ที E.g.  Could you call the police, please? kun  chûay  rîak  dtam - rùat  hâi  tii คุณช่วยเรียกตำรวจให้ที

tii  ná  ทีนะ E.g.  Could you call the police, please? kun  chûay  rîak  dtam - rùat  hâi  tii  ná คุณช่วยเรียกตำรวจให้ทีนะ

tii sì  ทีซิ E.g.  Could you call the police, please? kun  chûay  rîak  dtam - rùat  hâi  tii  sì คุณช่วยเรียกตำรวจให้ทีซิ

tòe  เถอะ E.g.  Let's go over to the swimming-pool.  bpai  wâai  nám  gan  tòe  ไปว่ายน้ำกันเถอะ

tòe  ná  เถอะนะ  E.g.  Let’s go together. bpai  dûai  gan  tòe  ná  ไปด้วยกันเถอะนะ

tii  tòe  ทีเถอะ E.g.  Send for a doctor! chûay  dtaam  măw  tii  tòe ช่วยตามหมอทีเถอะ

tôr  óei!  โธ่เอ๊ย E.g.  I have forgotten my wallet.  Tôr  óei!  chán  leum  grà - bpăo  sà - dtaang.  โธ่เอ๊ย!  ฉันลืมกระเป๋าสตางค์

bpáat  tôr!  ป๊าดโธ่ E.g.  I have forgotten my wallet.  bpáat  tôr!  chán  leum  grà - bpăo  sà - dtaang ป๊าดโธ่!  ฉันลืมกระเป๋าสตางค์

tôr!  โธ่ E.g.  Tôr!  โธ่…, I have forgotten textbooks again. Tôr!  chán  leum  năng - sěu  aìik  láew โธ่!  ฉันลืมหนังสืออีกแล้ว

rŏe  เหรอ E.g.  Is the tail light broken? fai  tăai  dtàek  rŏe ไฟท้ายแตกเหรอ

răa  หรา It’s Thai slangs. E.g.  Is the tail light broken? fai  tăai  dtàek  răa ไฟท้ายแตกหรา

eu  อือ It means "yes”. E.g.  I'm itching all over. Eu!  chán  kan  táng  dtua  loei อือ!  ฉันคันทั้งตัวเลย

oe!,  er!  เออ It means “yes”. E.g.  Have you got a temperature?  Yes, I have already got a fever for 2 days. gae  bpen  kâi  rŏe?  Oe!  chán  mii  kâi  maa  săwng  wan  láew  à แกเป็นไข้เหรอ?  เออ!  ฉันมีไข้มา 2 วันแล้วอะ

òei  เอ่ย Used in the end of the question. E.g.  What’s this? man  keu  à  rai  òei มัน คือ อะไรเอ่ย

ŏei  เอ๋ย This is a particle placed at the end of a verse of poetry.

ŏe  เอ๋อ It’s confused person.

oe  wà!  เออว่ะ It’s “yes”.  And it’s impolite. E.g.  Is there a long queue?  Yes, …  (I don’t like a long queue.) mii  kew  yaao  mái?  Mii… Oe  wà!..  chán  mâi  châwp  kew  yaao  loei มีคิวยาวไหม?  มี...  เออว่ะ!  ฉันไม่ชอบคิวยาวเลย

úi!  อุ้ย E.g.  You've got a common cold.  I thought I ‘ve got a Covid. kun  bpen  wàt  tam - ma - daa…  Úi!  chán  kít  wâa  chán  bpen  cor - wìt  sá  aìik คุณเป็นหวัดธรรมดา...  อุ้ย  ฉันคิดว่าฉันเป็นโควิคซ่ะอีก

Wŏe  เหว๋อ It means shock, no idea, etc…

wá  วะ Impolite particle. E.g.  Is it contagious? man  bpen  rôrk  dtìt - dtàw  rŭu  wá มันเป็นโรคติดต่อหรือวะ

wà  ว่ะ Impolite particle E.g.  It's highly contagious. man  bpen  rôrk  dtìt - dtàw  ráai - raeng  wà มันเป็นโรคติดต่อร้ายแรงว่ะ

wáai!  ว้าย E.g.  Is it fatal? Wáai!  ráai - raeng  mâak  mái ว้าย!  ร้ายแรงมากไหม

wâa  ว่า It means “that, as to, and whether. E.g.  I said that you need to see a psychiatrist. chán  wâa  kun  dtâwng  bpai  hăa  jìt - dtà - pâet  ná ฉันว่าคุณต้องไปหาจิตแพทย์นะ

wâe!  แหว่ะ It means “disgusting”, dislike, disdain, etc…

wói  โว้ย It’s impolite word. E.g.  I feel very weak. chán  róo  sèuk  plia  mâak   mâak   wói ฉันรู้สึกเพลียมาก ๆ โว้ย

Wúi  วุ้ย E.g.  I’m so tired. pŏm  nùai  mâak   mâak  wúi ผมเหนื่อยมาก ๆ วุ้ย

Wóei  เว้ย It’s impolite word and Thai slangs. E.g.  Don’t touch me! yàa  maa  dtàe - dtâwng  dtua  chán  wóei อย่ามาแตะต้องตัวฉันเว้ย

yéa!  yéa!  เย้  เย้ E.g.  He was given a medal for bravery. kăo  dâi  ráp  rĭan  glâa – hăan  láew,  yéa!  yéa!  เขาได้รับเหรียญกล้าหาญแล้ว  เย้!  เย้!

yang  ngai  ยังไง E.g.  What sort of shape are you in?  râang  gaai  kăwng  kun  bpen  yang  ngai  bâang? ร่างกายของคุณเป็นยังไงบ้าง

yéa!  เย้ E.g.  He was promoted to full colonel. kăo  dâi  luêan  tam - nàeng  bpen  pan - tam - rùat  èak  láew, yéa! เขาได้เลื่อนตำแหน่งเป็นพันตำรวจเอกแล้ว  เย้!

yà  ย่ะ It’s normally word and used with close friends. E.g.  Call the Police. rîak  tam - rùat  hâi  dûai  yà    เรียกตำรวจให้ด้วยย่ะ
